Visit Seven

The next few days went by with us, well mostly me, practicing in the morning and recovering over the afternoon. Controlling his powers caused a lot of physical exhaustion. It feels like my magic is the dam and, while it's totally stable when blocking all of his, as soon as I start letting some magic through it becomes significantly harder to keep the dam steady.

“I think I'm gonna take a break from this for a few days,” I sighed after one of the training sessions, “I'm feeling really drained.”

“How weak,” Ensharra taunted, “You've barely made progress.”

“But I have made progress.”

He scoffed.

“It's not like we both don't have plenty of time. We'll get there.”

“There is no we, human.”

“Why don't you just call me by my name already?”

“You do not deserve the respect, so I never bothered to remember it.”

“It's Drizzm.”

“You still do not deserve the respect.”

“What? Do I have to be of sufficient service to you or something?”

“You will never have my respect, human. Your kind is below us in every way.”

I sighed, “I just need to remember this is all for Sunshine.”

“Just leave us be. He is not worth my time.”

“That's such a shitty way to think about your son.”

“I do not care what you think.”

“I'm not the only one that thinks so. He does too. Can you just stop being an ass and actually listen to us?”

“What does it matter? Our relationship is far beyond your ability, or anyone's ability, to fix.”

“It would be. If you just wanted to.”

“I said he is not worth my time.”

The exhaustion was getting to me and I got angry, fuming like he often does. Suddenly the pact mark glowed as my magic swelled in an odd way and he jolted. The surprise made me calm down and insanely curious. I emulated the way I moved my magic and he jolted again, along with the pact mark glowing.

“Stop that,” he ordered, glaring at me.

“Ohohoho,” I laughed with mischievous glee, “Seems I've found your shock collar.”

“Do not do that again, human.”

“And how do you plan to stop me?”

He fumed as I left to make his lunch, laughing the whole time. I continued having a smug attitude all day and I excitedly told Diavolo and Lucifer.

“I think I have a foolproof way to discipline Ensharra,” I announced, “I accidentally found a way to essentially shock him through my pact mark.”

“Accidentally,” Lucifer raised an eyebrow, intrigued.

“He was being really mean and it got to me. But because I'm tired from practicing, my magic moved in a weird way and it shocked him.”

“What did he say to upset you so,” Diavolo cupped my cheek.

“He was actually being mean about you,” I said, but I didn't really want to say what he told me.

Diavolo looked sadly at me.

“Don't look like that Sunshine. I'll use this new power of mine to great use.”

“Can you do it consistently,” Lucifer asked.

“I'm not sure. I don't really plan on just shocking him for nothing. Even if it was sorta cathartic.”

“How exactly do you plan on using it,” Diavolo nervously asked.

“To make him stop being a dick mostly. It's hard to ignore us if he gets shocked everytime he does or says something rude.”

“Do you think that will work? What if it makes him angrier?”

“He probably will be for a while. But he needs a really strong hand to correct this behavior.”

“Why does it sound like you’re talking about a dog?”

“Because unfortunately he’s acting like one.”

“He’s my father.”

“And he’s an asshat. But I should be able to fix that, even a little bit, with this new power and maybe you guys will actually be able to have a conversation.”

Diavolo still looked nervous.

“Don’t worry Sunshine. This will work out. It’s not my first rodeo dealing with someone like him.”

“Love,” Lucifer playfully stressed, “Are you talking about me?”

“I would never,” I joked.
